Reception admissions - how to keep ahead in lockdown
Schools have been closed but admissions have not stopped. This online event took place on Tuesday 16 June 2020 and was designed to help parents to understand how the leading London nurseries and Pre-Prep/Prep schools are managing the admissions processes for 2020 and 2021 during lockdown.
Lucinda Byron Evans, Head Teacher, Young England Kindergartens and Sebastian Hepher, Principal, Eaton Square Schools discussed the impact of lockdown on: admissions deadlines, open days, school visits, interviews & assessments. The session was chaired by William Petty, Director of Bonas MacFarlane.

SEBASTIAN HEPHER, PRINCIPAL, EATON SQUARE SCHOOLS
Sebastian Hepher was appointed as Principal of the Eaton Square Schools Group in September 2019. This includes four nurseries, a Pre Prep., Prep and Upper School; an education from 2.5 years through to 18 years old.
Mr Hepher joined Eaton Square School in 2010, since when the school has grown significantly, as has its standing. The pupils now follow a more academically rigorous and stimulating curriculum, whilst at the same time having wonderful opportunities through the extra-curricular provision. The School has been led through two ISI inspections under his Headship where the findings were Excellent on both occasions.
Mr Hepher is a Council member of IAPS and is Chairman of IAPS 1S (70 Prep Schools in London and southern suburbs) and currently sits on the 1S Committee too; he was previously the Treasurer for IAPS 1S.
LUCINDA BYRON EVANS, HEAD TEACHER, YOUNG ENGLAND KINDERGARTENS
Miss Lucinda began her teaching career doing work experience at Young England Kindergarten in 2000. She then continued her training and gained a degree in Early Childhood studies, followed by a PGCE in Primary Education specialising in Early Years. Miss Lucinda obtained her QTS in June 2008 whilst teaching a reception class at Eaton House, The Manor School. Miss Lucinda re-joined Young England in 2009 and became Head Teacher in September 2011.
Located in the heart of Pimlico, Young England Kindergarten is a family-run nursery school that has been educating children since the 1960’s.
